Hello Beacon Insiders!

The biggest event of this week deserved to be in a class of it's own, The South Beach Wine & Food Festival. It is one of the best events that South Beach has throughout the year, which brings celebrity hosts Rachael Ray, Emeril Lagasse, Paula Dean, Glade De Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence and many  more! They will be doing cooking demos and book signings at the American Express Grand Tasting Tents.

South Beach Events

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend in these past couple of days and that you are all geared up for a great week of events in Miami Beach. Some of the events are one day events, others however will last the whole week and into the weekend.

The events go as follows:

NBA Basketball

• Miami Heat VS Minnesota Timberwolves - Tuesday 2/18 at 7:30 p.m.
• Miami Heat VS Philadelphia - Saturday 2/21 at 3:30 p.m.

Music Festival

2nd Annual Carnival at CocoWalk - 3015 Grand Ave Coconut Grove

Come celebrate the spirit of Carnival in Brasil with live music, Moleca Cachaca drinks, Brasilian dancers and much more. The event begins at 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is free.

Beacon Hotel & Habitat for Humanity

Good afternoon Beacon Insiders!

This past Friday February 13, 2009 The Beacon, a South Beach hotel partnered together with Habitat for Humanity in celebration of their 20th anniversary of helping the community for their annual Blitz Build.

Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail

Hello once again Beacon Insiders.

Today's post is about one of the largest new boat shows in the world, showcasing over 2,000 exhibitors showing off the latest powerboats, sailboats, engines, electronics and accessories.

The Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail 2009.

The Boat show exhibition is being held at the Miami Beach Convention Center from February 12 - February 16, 2009. The show is produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), the principal trade association of the recreational marine industry.

Other locations to see the beautiful display of luxury and powerboats are the Sea Isle Marina & Yachting Center and the Miamarina at Bayside.

Romance in a Can Film Festival

Good afternoon Beacon Insiders!

Today is the first day of a two week event happening in Miami Beach, Romance in a Can Film Festival. The festival begins today Friday February 6, 2009 and runs until Sunday February 15, 2009. The Romance in a Can Film Festival presents a selection of romantic comedies from around the world with special emphasis on European films. Thirteen romantic long features will be screened at theaters throughout Miami-Dade County.

Launched in February 2007, ROMANCE IN A CAN the first and only festival in the U.S. dedicated solely to European romantic films. Romance in a Can depicts how "love" is interpreted by today's independent European filmmakers. With more than 25 screenings around Miami and the Beaches, red carpet premieres and celebrity endorsements, Romance in a Can is an extraordinary event with a rapidly growing following.
