Hey everyone, sorry that I haven't posted in about a month. It's been very busy here in Miami with New Year's, the College Football Championship and the Art Deco Weekend. We do have some pics up on our Facebook Page of New Year's and the Art Deco weekend.
Speaking of which.....
What an eventful weekend it was with the Art Deco festival in town. Art Deco Weekend explores the rich culture of Argentina this year. Art Deco found a home throughout Argentina, but especially so in the broad avenues, gracious neighborhoods, and luxurious movie palaces of the capitol city of Buenos Aires.
The Argentine film industry was in full gear through the 1930s, producing classic films and the world’s first animated features. The sultry forms of the tango, found in high-ceilinged milongas and dance halls, became popular worldwide as stylish and sophisticated icons of music and dance. Art Deco may have found its first expression in Paris, France, but in Buenos Aires, the “Paris of the South,” it found a stately and supremely elegant home.
We have the pictures posted of the eventful weekend on our Facebook Fan page
Till the next post, keep on blogging at our South Beach Hotel.
Chris.
